Everyone Gets Sick On Vacation . . .

We were fairly recovered from the busy wedding day and Stella was ticked that she had to leave Jude, Greta, and Ezra. Seriously, we are so happy that we got to stay there. Love their house, love their kids, love the parents, love this family. Love.

Hope they don't mind that we're going to stay with them again when we come to Utah. Love.

Kennan took snapped a picture of our photogenic family. We were having an off day. Stella was complaining of a tummy ache, but pushed right through it to be able to play the last little while with Jude and Greta. But by the time we go to Uncle Roger and Aunt Terri's, she looked like this.

She was sick. May I just reiterate that this girl DOES NOT TAKE A NAP. So when she actually does, I know something is wrong with her. She asked Daddy for a blessing and he was happy to do it with the help of Grandpa and Uncle Roger who were both there. She barfed, rested, and then was able to feel better the next day and was back to her old shenanigans.

Spring Training Baseball

I can't believe I forgot about this! We had a Dibble Day at the Ballpark during Spring Break in March. Usually the Dibble Day at the Ballpark has something to do with Grandpa's work, but this time it was real Dibble, like us. It was abnormally hot since we had just been having some really cool days, but still did nothing for my tan.

My loves.

I have no idea whose feet those are, but that's love right there.

I told George and Anabelle and Stella that I would send their video to ELLEN if they would dance behind unknowing baseball observing fans.  It was kind of funny.

Surveillance on who their next dancing victim would be.

Concession stand dancing.

More loves and my freakishly large and bent arm.

I can't tell if Ray has 2 bodies or if Adam was beheaded.  Lucy paid the closest attention to the game.  The security guard came and asked Adam is Xan was still alive because she was sort of taking a nap and hadn't moved in a little while.  It was pretty hot, so it was a valid concern.

Stella ended up making a new buddy with the poor kid sitting next to us with his loud mother.  They played cards.

I can't say I even watched more than 2 minutes of the game, but it was fun to be with family!

1999 - Super Bowl @ Dibble's

(originally posted 07/23/2009)

January 30 - I went to the Grove Parkway church building to hear Shari Dew speak. It was nice and I was actually hoping to see Elliot's mom there so I could sit with her. I liked her. I really liked her son.

January 31 - Super Bowl Sunday Elliot invited Natalie and I over to have dinner with his family. We started calling Elliot's mom "Mother Dibble." It stuck. Natalie started calling Elliot's dad "Ka-Bish." That one didn't stick so much. I was still trying to avoid him because I was embarrassed about the last interview.

We also met Elliot brother Adam and his wife Xan. They had just announced that they were expecting their first child at the end of July.

Bishop Dibble asked for another interview with Natalie and I separately while we were at his home. He gave me a calling to be on the Homemaking Committee. When I went back out to sit with Elliot on the couch, he asked me what my new calling was. So I told him.

When Natalie got out of her interview, Elliot asked her what her new calling was to which she responded, "I guess you'll find out on Sunday."

Just then Bishop Dibble came in as Elliot said, "Come on, tell me. Whitney told me what her new calling was."

Bishop Dibble's response . . . "That's because Whitney doesn't have an understanding of how these things work."

Holy crap. He hates me. I'll never date his son.

OK, I still like him. He gets hiccups when he laughs really hard. We couldn't stop laughing after we saw this Super Bowl commercial for Fox Catcher Cam:

DECEMBER: Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium

If there was someone less excited to be at the Wildlife Zoo in a torrential downpour, I certainly didn't see them there between my glares.

Everyone else, though, was ever optimistic that the rain would stop (it didn't) and we'd be able to spend the rest of the day enjoying wonderful weather.

Grandpa even made the poor workers that were huddled in a golf cart, get out and do their demonstration with some of the wildlife, including a snake, which I didn't appreciate.

I was, however, fascinated by the the nursing baby mice . . .

. . . as well as the mating turtles.

The saving grace was when Adam nearly peed himself when a zoo worker behind the scenes unexpectedly put her arm in a tank while we were observing from the other side. I laughed for at least 7 minutes.

I didn't stop shivering or get warm for 3 days. Do I sound ungrateful? Well, I was/am. I went home and read an Ensign article about gratitude and tried to change my attitude since I AM GRATEFUL that Stella has a Grandpa that loves his grandkids and wants to spend time with them doing great activities. Unfortunately, he doesn't manage the weather.

Fat Man's Pass 2010

We hiked Fat Man's Pass again the day after Thanksgiving this year with Adam & Xan and the kids as Grandpa and Bethany.

Anabelle, Claire, Stella, George, Raymond

Lucy-Lu

I couldn't even walk across it without assistance and there she is jumping across. Fearless.

I was pretty sure I crushed my knee. I'm all better now. It wasn't as fun as the kids made it seem.

Lovey.

I still fit.

Uncle Larry - 1946-2010

Elliot's Uncle Larry Gregory passed away last Friday morning. He was the Fire Chief in Farmington, Utah for 16 years. I always liked Larry because I could see right through him trying to be all crotchety, when really he was just a sweet and loving man. I'm glad we got to visit him last year and that he got to meet Stella. I'm sure they would have been great friends. We'll miss Uncle Larry and his "the doctor told me not to buy any green banana's" response when you asked him how he was doing.

The only problem I have with his obituary is that it says he grew to maturity . . . now, I didn't know him very well, but honestly have any of the Gregory siblings matured yet?

Love you Uncle Larry.

The Actual Birthday

We sort of had a busy day planned on Stella's actual birthday (July 31), so we took her to a movie and dinner the night before. She's wanted to see Despicable Me, so we watched that at the "thee-dee-er" and ate dinner at Famous Dave's, where she fell asleep on the bench. I marvel when Stella passes out before her bedtime. She loved the movie though!

Stella wanted to swim and eat a hotdog for her birthday, so we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa's house for the festivities!

Lucy, Grandma, Sammy

Claire and her kung-fu grip on the side of the pool.

Raymundo

Elliot doesn't give up when it comes to the Croc-Mounting Competition.

Success. He also gets a great workout tossing everyone about in the pool.

George

Ray

Anabelle

Stella

Aunt Bethany

George challenged us to see if we could mount the crocodile without hands.

Stella got pretty good at mounting the crocodile.

She also had some great crashes.

Success.

And success.

Stella decided that she doesn't like cake (Elliot and I aren't real fans either), so she wanted homemade oreo's with pink frosting. Delish.

She wasn't quite sure what to think of the sparkler candle Adam and Xan brought for her.

Gosh darn, she's cute.

Stella didn't ever watch commercial television until recently and now all she asks for is a Pillow Pet. She was so excited to get her unicorn! "IT'S SO FLUFFY!" (from Despicable Me) and now the Pillow Pet's name is Fluffy.

Happy Birthday Miss Priss!
