11:45 a.m. – Email update from Mom
Yesterday Lindsay was moved to the 3rd floor (out of ICU). She got to eat some food and is only on 2 liters of oxygen. Karen said that she has an unmerciful PT, but he’s very good.
When she was down in ICU, several teams of doctors do their rounds and they have one spokesperson to bring the team up to date. One of those doctors was a very tall, large boned woman who seemed to instantly connect with Lindsay. I noticed it when I was there as she was listening to another case, she kept turning her head and watch Lindsay who was attempting to sit up. She left her group and came over to tell Lindsay that we would be getting her up soon, to stay relaxed until someone comes to help her. Lindsay obeyed.
Before Lindsay was moved to the 3rd floor, this particular doctor came and gave Lindsay a kiss on her forehead. Karen told the doctor that Lindsay has felt of her care and concern and felt a friendship. The doctor said, “Let’s hope it’s a short friendship and that she’ll never be back again.”
Yesterday Lindsay was drinking soda out of a baby bottle with a straw. She knows she’s getting better each day. She still has the drain tube that is draining very little fluid from her right lung.
Marci is going to California to help relieve Keith tomorrow. Dan and Karen are going to Utah to see their new baby granddaughter.
