Stella always seems to wake me up just as something exciting is about to happen in our neighborhood. Exciting, as in illegal.
As I was putting her back to bed yesterday morning at 6:00 (yes, still too early for me), I heard sirens that were awfully close. Lo and behold, it's just right outside my front window. The house behind the house across the street was totally on fire. Huge flames. I perched myself at the front window watching everything until Stella woke up again an hour later.
My house is in the top right corner.
The cops said it looked "suspicious."
